I know things have been looking a bit quite on the website just lately, and sorry this has been the case, but this is partly because I have been using what little time I have to move over to a new Web Shop - which I hope will give much improved userability for customers, as it uses standard 'Shopping Trolley' functionality.

Web Shop
New 'WebShop' format (showing Categories)

Old Web Shop
Old Catalog format -where you could not 'select' items

Here are some of the features that new Web Shop will provide -
  • Shopping Trolley - Just select the item you want to purchase and it will be automatically added to the order. No need to have to write your order down and email me any more (you can still email me if you want information first though).
  • This also means the order cost is automatically generated, so you can see how much it will cost before confirming the order
  • New Categories - In the old catalog (which I had programmed myself) all the items in my catalog were shown in a big long single list. In the new Web Shop I am able to seperate the different products into logical 'Categories', which means you can go straight to the area you are interested in - Cambox parts for example
  • More Information - I can now give more information about items if it is required, and multiple photographs against each item. At a later stage I can also show how many items are available in stock
  • E-Mail Information - You will now received emails to tell you the status of your order as I progress it
  • Search Engine - The new Web Shop has a search page, where you can enter any keyword, and it will then return any items that has that word in its descripton
  • Newsletter Facility - This Webshop allows you to subscribe for newsletters to be sent to you by email. Please give me a bit of time to figure out how to use it (!), but once I have, I will use this newsletter to tell you about new Norton products I have in the pipeline, and any special offers or second hand parts I have to offer
  • Customer Logon - If you use the Customer Logon, you will then be able to create an order without having to repeat all your personal details. I know many of you put in repeat orders (thank you for this!) so this should make thinkgs quicker
There are a few other points I would like to mention though
  • Payment - Most modern Web Shops allow payment online - i.e. Credit/Debit Card, Visa etc. Eventually my web shop will probably do the same, but for the moment I will continue to only to take Personal cheque, Paypal or Electronic Bank Transfer. For more information about this please read my Web Shop Home Page - Web Shop Home Page
  • Completing the Order and Paying- As existing customers will already know, I do not do this as my main business, it is a hobby gone wrong! My 'day job' entails me working very long hours, including weekends, therefore I cannot always complete the order as fast as I would like. Because of this, I do not ask for payment until I have sorted your order and can confirm back to you that I have everything in stock and what the postage cost will be
  • Postage and Packing - I always try to keep Postage and Packing to the actual cost - I do not make any profit unlike some other online sites I could mention! However, this means I cannot confirm the P+P cost until I have weighed the final order. Later on, if I can figure it out, I might try and use the Web Shop's automatic shipping features - but this is a while away yet!

Anyway, I hope you like the new Web Shop. As you can see, I have also used the oppotunity to add lots of new items that I have been having made over the last year, and hopefully you will be pleased to know that I have lots of new products still in the pipeline, watch out for updates in the next few months!

The last year has been very hard for me from a personal perspective though, mainly due to the pressues of my 'day' job, which means I am currently getting very little time to run the Norton parts business. I apologise in advance if this sometimes means I do not reply back to to you straight away, but please could I ask that you bear this in mind and thank you for your patience in advance.

As always, I am always interested to hear your views, so why not tell me what you think of the new WebShop. I am happy to hear your views - good or bad, and will try to do what I can to incorporate any suggestions you have. Contact me at my normal email - paul.norman@racingvincent.co.uk

Best Wishes,
Paul Norman.
