A11M/167:
Norton SOHC (and DOHC) Exhaust Nuts
Very nice example of the Norton SOHC exhaust
nut, with the correct longer thread that differentiates them from the more
common ES2 type. They
are very close copies of the original, of the type fitted to most SOHC
models, including both M30\M40 International and SOHC (Gardgengate)
Manx's. They are supplied dull plated.
To my knowledge they have not been available for many years, and I have
just fitted one to the International engine I am building!

RM21/002:
21" WM1 Chrome Front Rim - For Norton SingleSided 7" Hubs
RM19/002: 19" WM2 Chrome Rear Rim - For Norton Single (Cotton Reel)
Hubs
English made, good quality
chrome WM2 19" 40 spoke rim, with correct spoke spacing to fit both
Norton rigid and Gardgengate 'cotton reel' hubs.
- As I am currently building a road going International myself, and therefore
needed rims, I thought I might as well stock them! These are nice quality
rims, with good chrome and are English made.
As many of you know, Internationals pre-war were originally fitted with
20" rims. At the moment I am struggling to get these, and tyres are
even harder, therefore at the moment I have decided to stick with 19"
rims, for which there is a much better tyre choice available.
Finally, these rims when fitted to Nortons would originally have come
with a black painted centre section, with red pinstripes on each side
of the black. I will be painting my rims in this manner, and will report
back in a future article how to do this and how durable it turns out to
be. I may even offer it as an additonal option when buying these rims
- but I suspect the effort required with etch primer and lining etc will
make them very expensive. As always, email me if you are interested

RM19/003:
19" WM2 Alloy Front - For Norton Conical (Manx) Hubs
I already sell a 21"
alloy front rim, but I have now extended this to included a 19" 40
hole front rim, to fit a conical (9" spoke flange to spoke flange)
conical Manx front hub.
Using this size rim gives you a much wider choice of front tyre as well
as a slightly larger contact patch on the road. If you are using your
Norton for any competition events, and are less concerned about originality,
then this is probably a more appropritate rim than the 21" rim.
It became standard fitment on double knocker Manx Nortons anyway, and
this rim has the correct spoke arrangement for all conical hubs.

: Choke Tube to fit Amal TT Carburettors
If you are thinking of boring out your
Amal TT to a new choke diameter - i.e taking a 1 1/16"
bore out to 1 5/32",
then you will first need to remove the Choke Tube. I can now supply this
little but important item.
I do not profess to be an expert on
doing this - but I have done it a few times and I know the secret to removing
an old one is to make a small tubular adaptor with a screw head, and a
hole through it centre for a 2" x 1/4"
bolt. You then put the bolt through the adaptor and the the old choke
tube (which will be in situ in the old mixing chamber) and tighten it
up. Put the mixing chamber in the oven until spit hot (to loosen off the
old choke tube) then unscrew the adaptor and hopefully the old choke tube
will budge. The small bolt ensures the screw head is kept tight against
the choke tube. However, invariably this can get chewed, in which case
having a new one is handy!

: Rigid Framed International
Rear Hub/Sprocket
(the gungy stuff is packing grease!) |
|
A2/463:
Rear Hub/Sprocket for Rigid's
This is a very good example
of the rear sprocket/hub
that was fitted to all SOHC Nortons with rigid frames.
It should be noted that this type of rear sprocket was also used with
rigid framed Sidevalve and Overhead Valve bikes postwar, and was also
used later on again with the swinging arm models.
Note: the plunger type hub is different, I may be stocking those as well
in the future

Cheap and cheerful reproduction of a proprietary British propstand. This
type of propstand would normally clamp to the lower gearbox to rear wheel
